Be sure to stay ICO (senior) Fellow!

This summer we have announced ICOs new membership classifications. As a first step we have implemented this by updating your membership status into the new classifications. With this new classifications we have more variety in memberships, and membership is more accessible to starting researchers and researchers with a smaller research appointment. Please be aware that being a (senior) fellow no longer solely depends on your publications.

Active participation in ICO activities is warranted to become or remain (senior) fellow. This means (senior) fellows will have to play an active role in ICO at least once every four years. We will start checking your activities for ICO at our periodical membership check related to the (Dutch) national research accreditation in 2024. From this moment onwards you will have 4 years to find an activity you can play a part in for ICO.

What do we mean by ‘an active role’? We mean any involvement in ICOs organisation, ICO courses, or ICO events. For example,  coordinating of or teaching in an ICO course or workshop, participating in the ICO Board or Educational committee or acting as chair or discussant at a Spring School.

The latter is relatively easy to do, and a fun way to find out more about educational research in the Netherlands and Belgium. And it ensures your membership-status for the upcoming years. That is why we invite all ICO (senior) fellows to join us at the ICO National Spring School this year.

More information about the ICO NSS and a link to the registration form can be found at https://nss2024.ico-education.nl/

It will be great to meet you all there.
