ICO welcomes Jeroen Janssen as its new Scientific director per 1 September 2025

At the beginning of 2025, ICO’s Scientific Director, Prof. Dr Liesbeth Kester, made the move from Utrecht University to Maastricht University. There, she joined the School of Health Professions Education as Professor of Instructional Design. As a result, ICO will be welcoming a new Scientific Director, appointed by our host institution, Utrecht University.

We are delighted to announce that, as of September 2025, Prof. Jeroen Janssen will take on the role of Scientific Director. Jeroen is Professor of Complex Learning Environments at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Utrecht University, and we are excited to have him on board.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Liesbeth for her dedication and leadership over the past few years. It has been a real pleasure working with you!
