Vacancy: New theme group coordinator for Theme 1 – Learning & Instruction

The research of ICO’s members has been grouped into “themes”. These thematic groups can be regarded as Special Interest Groups. The thematic groups are responsible for the organization of ICO’s thematic courses and also contribute to the ICO biennial National and International Schools and theme group related events together with the VOR. Each group is coordinated by one or more experienced researchers and one PhD student: the theme group coordinators.

What will you do?

As coordinator of Theme group 1 you will further develop the partly online course Learning & Instruction: Basics and Beyond, together with the current coordinator, Michelle Helms-Lorenz (RUG). This course is especially set up for ICO PhD members who have a master’s degree outside of the educational sciences. The course provides them with the valuable insights in the educational sciences they need for their PhD research.

As a Theme group coordinator you will meet up with all other theme group coordinators once a year in an online meeting to discuss developments within ICO, and to share knowledge.

You will be present at the ICO National School to meet with the ICO PhDs that do research within the theme, to share information with each other.

You will be present at short online meetings with new ICO members as part of their ICO Introductory course, to introduce the theme group to them, and to share information.

Who are we looking for?

  • You are researcher with solid knowledge in the theme Learning and Instruction
  • Preferably, you defended your thesis within the last 5 years
  • You are willing to spend some of your valuable time to ICO
  • It is a plus if you have some knowledge of online education

We are also interested in completing the team with a PhD candidate, also with good knowledge of the theme.

Are you interested? Please let us know with a short email to Caroline Vonk c.vonk@uu.nl before June 25.
