ECTS ½
During your PhD trajectory, but also thereafter, you will highly likely delve into ‘the literature’ for theoretical frameworks and alike surrounding your topic. But did you know that it is also possible to conduct a systematic literature review as a study on its own, that will bring even more knowledge and insights? Some even argue that systematic literature reviews are on top of the hierarchy of knowledge 😉. In this four hour workshop I’ll will explain, from the experience I have in conducting, supervising and publishing systematic literature reviews, on how to set up such an endeavor. I’ll take you through the process of selecting, extracting, appraising, and analyzing. I’ll also pinpoint to certain challenges to try and overcome and technologies that might help out in the process. Apart from meta-analysis (which I will NOT address), there are about 25-30 different approaches to analyzing and synthesizing included studies, also those with a qualitative nature. You will get behind-the-scenes on how I’ve conducted a few of these approaches, ánd you will exercise yourself in this workshop. You will leave the workshop, having a more or less specific plan for your future systematic literature review, knowing tips and tricks, and appreciating this kind of research.
