Scientific and Examinations Committee
Current members of the ICO scientific committee are:

The Scientific Director, the Educational Director and two ICO Fellows represent the Scientific Committee, in which the quality of the PhD research proposals is discussed and which approves the PhD research proposals. The Scientific Committee meets four or five times a year.
This committee also forms the Examinations Committee. As Examinations Committee, they approve of the Education and Supervision Plans attached to PhD research proposals, they are responsible for providing certificates and decide on exemption requests. The Scientific and Examinations Committee meets four or five times a year.
Deadline for sending in proposals for new ICO PhD members, exemption requests and SEA’s is always at least two weeks before the next meeting date.
Deadlines for sending in new proposals 2025-2026:
- 15 September 2025, 12:00 hours (noon)
- 8 December 2025, 12:00 hours (noon)
- 15 March 2026, 12:00 hours (noon)
- 1 June 2026, 12:00 hours (noon)
