ICO OGSS2025: ICO needs your help!

Looking for workshop suggestions

Next year, from the 17th to 21st of March 2025, ICO will again organise an international Spring School at the Duinse Polders in Blankeberge, Belgium. This year we have adopted a new name: the ICO Open Graduate Spring School (ICO OGSS 2025). Like previous times, we are looking for input to put together a diverse workshop programme. For that, we would like your help.

Ideally, the workshop programme at the Spring School will complement the regular ICO education programme. We aim to offer added value to all attending PhD students by inviting European experts who can bring fresh perspectives on topics we already cover in the Netherlands and Belgium.

If you have a workshop idea you’d like to organise, or if you know of relevant experts in your proposed subject, please let us know! For further details, see the annex ‘Guidelines for Workshop Leaders.’

We hope to receive an initial proposal, including a title, brief description, and potential workshop leaders by 30th October. This will allow us to consider your suggestions when making the final workshop selections. We will discuss your idea with the theme group coordinator if it fits into one of the theme groups and  finally the ICO educational committee make a final choice on the workshop programme in November, ensuring it meets the needs of PhD students.

If your proposal is shortlisted, we will request a more detailed workshop description. Feel free to share this email with your colleagues!

Thanks again in advance for all your input!

Warm regards,
The ICO OGGS 2025 organisation committee,

Christine van Nooijen (EUR)
Samantha Vos (OU)
Tisja Korthals Altes (VU)
Caroline Vonk (ICO)
